Reflecting on the "Reclaim Her" Workshop - A Journey of Healing and Connection

At some point, many women may face a deep exhaustion that sleep cannot fix. Many experience symptoms that are often dismissed, leave medical appointments with more questions than answers, and spend countless hours searching for clarity about their own bodies. Whether pregnant, postpartum, navigating perimenopause or menopause, living with endometriosis or PMOS, or simply sensing that something is off without having the words to describe it, these experiences can feel isolating and confusing.

On June 6th, the "Reclaim Her: The Women’s Healing Experience" workshop created a space where women could come together to learn, heal, and reconnect with their bodies. This event brought together expert voices from a clinical nutritionist, a mental & sexual health therapist, fitness professionals, and a registered nurse for real conversations, offering a rare opportunity for honest dialogue about women’s health.

On June 6th, we brought together a clinical nutritionist, a mental & sexual health therapist, fitness professionals, and a registered nurse for real conversations around the things that affect us most — and that we’re most often left to figure out alone.

A Space Built for Women’s Real Experiences

The workshop was designed to address the gaps in women’s health conversations. It acknowledged the frustration many women feel when their symptoms are minimized or misunderstood. The event welcomed women from all walks of life, recognizing the diversity of experiences related to pregnancy, postpartum, hormonal changes, and chronic conditions like endometriosis and PMOS.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, fostering trust and openness. Women were encouraged to share their stories and listen to others, creating a sense of community that is often missing in healthcare settings.

Expert Insights That Made a Difference

One of the highlights was the lineup of professionals who shared their knowledge and answered questions with empathy and clarity:

  • A mental and sexual health therapist addressed the emotional and psychological aspects of women’s sexual health. Through practical insights and reflection, women learned tools to reconnect with their bodies, cultivate presence, and redefine pleasure in ways that work for each individual woman.

  • Fitness professionals challenged the old narratives and offered clear, evidence-based framework for understanding muscle and bone health, longevity, cardiovascular fitness, pelvic floor function, and training across different life stages.

  • A clinical nutritionist explained how nutrition impacts hormones, mood, energy, metabolism, gut health, and overall well-being.

  • A registered nurse provided practical advice on navigating healthcare systems and advocating for oneself during medical appointments. The conversation encouraged and empowered women to take an active, informed role in their care, transforming uncertainty into confidence and education into self-advocacy.

These experts offered actionable advice and debunked common myths, helping attendees feel more informed and empowered.

Meditation and Performing Art as Tools for Healing

The workshop went beyond talk. Participants engaged in a short meditation session that offered grounding, and honored the body’s wisdom and capacity for healing. This session was gentle yet invigorating, designed to reconnect women with their quiet inner self in a supportive environment.

The event closed with a live dance performance by Larga Vista Dance. This artistic expression captured the theme of coming home to one’s body, showing that healing is not just intellectual but also deeply physical and emotional.

What Made This Workshop Stand Out

Several aspects made "Reclaim Her" unique and impactful:

  • Honest Conversations: The event created space for women to speak openly about topics often considered taboo or overlooked.

  • Holistic Approach: Combining nutrition, mental health, fitness, and nursing perspectives provided a well-rounded understanding of women’s health.

  • Community Building: The workshop fostered connections among attendees, reducing feelings of isolation.

  • Creative Expression: Incorporating art and movement helped participants experience healing beyond words.

Reflections and Takeaways

Looking back, the workshop was more than an event; it was a healing experience that many women described as transformative. It highlighted the need for spaces where women’s health is treated with the depth and respect it deserves.

For anyone feeling unheard or confused about their body, this workshop offered a reminder: you are not alone, and there are ways to reclaim your health and well-being. The combination of expert guidance, shared stories, and creative movement created a powerful environment for growth and connection.
