The Repertoire

Adelita works in healthcare, and has sought to integrate her professional healthcare experiences into her choreography. Recently, following a series of injuries, she felt inspired to focus the company's mission on merging women's healthcare education and experiences with performing arts. "As a nurse, my healthcare experience has made me aware of the significance of sharing evidence-based education and personal stories to allow a connection with others on a deeper level. And so, the goal of Larga Vista Dance is to inspire women to take charge of their health and embrace their healthcare journeys with enthusiasm. To achieve this, I invite other choreographers to join me in presenting work which incorporates a healthcare perspective. At Larga Vista Dance, choreographers meet with healthcare providers to educate themselves on a topic, and meet with a patient to hear a personal story. This then influences them to blend the artistry of dance with women's healthcare education and experience. Together, we explore the harmony of dance enriched by vital healthcare knowledge, empowering women through the synergy of art and health."

"empowering women through art & healthcare education

NYC, Arts on Site

We proudly presented a work-in-progress of "empowering women through art & healthcare education" in NYC on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with two captivating shows. Due to a untimely severe injury, this show unexpectedly had to be changed from a premiere to a work-in-progress, and still our performances turned out to be nothing short of inspiring. Our 60-minute concert was held at Arts on Site, an intimate theater in Manhattan's Lower East Side and via Live Stream. Our show, "empowering women through art and healthcare education," resonated deeply with our performers and audience alike. Our collaboration blended the beauty of dance with essential messages about women's healthcare education in the topics of perimenopause/menopause, musculoskeletal health, pelvic floor/diaphragm health, and mental wellbeing. Larga Vista Dance proudly presented choreography by: Soles of Duende, Miho Ryu, sarAika movement collective, and Larga Vista Dance with co-choreographer Ali McClellan. Dancers included Alexis Borth, Lana Hankinson, Adelita Hinojosa-Martin, Sara Pizzi, Aika Takeshima, and Roxanne Young

Choreographed by Ali McClellan and Adelita Hinojosa-Martin, this captivating piece explores the profound connection between dance and healthcare. Premiered at White Wave's 2025 SoloDuo Dance Festival in NYC, it highlights the vulnerability and emotional journey of patients, navigating from denial to grief and acceptance. As a dance movement therapist and registered nurse, we strive to create a supportive environment that honors our patients experiences, providing physical, emotional, and spiritual care. Through this work, we celebrate the essence of human connection and resilience.

"Notes from Daughters" is a touching project created by Leah Elimeliah, originally presented in April 2024 at an intimate, charming art gallery on the Upper West Side of NYC, NY. The event honored a variety of artists, each of whom expressed how their fathers had influenced their development into the women they are today. Larga Vista Dance showcased an extraordinary performance, choreographed & directed by Adelita Hinojosa-Martin and Ali McClellan; coached by Arleen Sugano. The captivating guitar melodies from Gipsy Kings resonated a deep appreciation that a woman has for her Dad. This show was showcased in June 2025 at STUDIO TO STAGE, presented by Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company. As this work continues to develop, the vision includes exploring the incorporation of videography. The goal of Larga Vista Dance is to bring healthcare education and performing arts together. Adelita is a registered nurse and Ali is a dance movement therapist.

Music: Faena by Gipsy Kings (we do NOT own the rights to the music).
